Our Team
Mike Elmers
Mike Elmers is CEO and co-founder of Energy One. With over 35 years of experience in engineering and leadership, Mike founded Energy One after seeing savings opportunities in how energy was used. He spent the first 23 years of his career at General Mills, where he developed his passion for Energy Engineering. There, he led initiatives which ultimately saved General Mills’ millions of dollars annually. It was also there he was recognized with their highest honor, a Champions Award.
Mike’s passion for creating teams founded on integrity, technical excellence, and collaboration is evident in the teams he has created and led during his career. He prides himself on Energy One’s relationships and results. Since 2016, Energy One has partnered with over 80 companies, saving them over $50 million while improving their sustainability.
Mike has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Emory University.
Graham Thorsteinson
Graham Thorsteinson is CTO and co-founder of Energy One. Graham has a Bachelor and Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. Graham worked along side Mike Elmers, where they saved over $25,000,000 through energy reduction with utility and process optimization.
Graham is driven to find energy saving opportunities and creative solutions, so that customers can mazimize their savings today and into the future. He led over 300 energy reduction initiatives at the worlds buisiest airport, reducing energy by more than 20%.
In addition to recognitions by the U.S. Department of Energy, in 2016, Graham received the Energy Manager of the Year award from the Associate of Energy Engineers (AEE) which has more than 18,000 members. In 2018, the AEE recognized his engineering leadership at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, by awarding Energy One the International Project of the Year.
Graham is a member of the external advisory board for the Georgia Institute of Technology’s Chemical Engineering Department and was recognized in Georgia Tech’s inaugural Top 40 under 40.
